Deck overview

This Golgari midrange deck centers around Pizza Face, Gastromancer, combining Food token generation with +1/+1 counter scaling. The primary game plan develops early board presence with versatile utility creatures and Food artifacts, deploying the commander on Turn 5 to activate the Disappear mechanic. By sacrificing permanents or trading creatures in combat, Pizza Face repeatedly places three +1/+1 counters on target permanents or animates Food into aggressive 3/3 Mutant attackers. Evasion lords like Michelangelo, Mutant BFF and Great Ugly-Looking Goblin grant menace and block restrictions to push damage through opposing defenses. Standalone high-power threats like The Thing, Ben Grimm and Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker provide redundant combat power. While the deck features flexible removal and solid graveyard recursion, its low ramp count and reliance on sorcery-speed combat leave it vulnerable to sweepers and fast combo decks.
