Deck overview

The Ghoul, Gunslinger helms a dedicated mono-black Zombie Aristocrats deck designed to grind value through creature deaths and execute compact combo finishes. The deck leverages its commander to convert every nontoken Zombie death into rad counters and Treasure tokens when targeting oneself. By pairing The Ghoul with recursive creatures like Gravecrawler and low-cost sacrifice outlets such as Carrion Feeder, Warren Soultrader, or Altar of Dementia, the deck generates infinite death triggers and mana. Aristocrat payoffs like Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Funeral Room drain the table simultaneously. The supporting card pool provides deep card velocity through engines like Undead Augur and Grim Haruspex, while asymmetric board control pieces like Grave Pact and Noxious Ghoul continuously clear opposing creatures. While susceptible to graveyard hate and lacking stack interaction, the deck recovers quickly with mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Zombie Apocalypse.
