Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a graveyard-centric reanimator engine commanded by Vanille, Cheerful l'Cie. The game plan revolves around rapidly filling the graveyard through efficient mill enablers and dredge creatures such as Golgari Grave-Troll and Stinkweed Imp. Once the graveyard is sufficiently stocked, the deck leverages mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms or targeted recursion via Dread Return to deploy massive threats like Lord of Extinction, Avenger of Zendikar, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. The primary finisher pairs a massive Lord of Extinction with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, sacrificing the elemental to drain all opponents simultaneously. The deck also features a meld subtheme with Fang, Fearless l'Cie into Ragnarok, Divine Deliverance for incremental value. Resilient against board wipes due to deep recursion, the deck primarily struggles against dedicated instant-speed graveyard hate and fast combo strategies.
