Deck overview

This is a five-color Mutate-themed value deck, helmed by Cromat purely for color identity. The deck ignores Cromat's own abilities entirely - the real game plan centers on stacking multiple mutate triggers onto a single creature to generate cumulative advantages: ramp, card advantage, removal, and recursion. Primary threats include keyword-soup beaters like Scion of Draco and large stacked piles accelerated by Brokkos, Apex of Forever recurring from the graveyard. Alternate win paths exist through poison counters via Venerated Rotpriest combined with Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief doubling each mutate spell, or through mass reanimation with Eerie Ultimatum and Nethroi, Apex of Death. The deck is a grindy midrange strategy that relies on incremental value rather than fast combos, with a robust recursion suite to survive board wipes.
