Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines classic Elf tribal swarm with -1/-1 counter attrition led by High Perfect Morcant. The deck rapidly deploys efficient mana dorks like Priest of Titania and token engines like Elvish Warmaster in the early turns. When High Perfect Morcant enters, every subsequent Elf forces opponents to place -1/-1 Blight counters on their creatures, which Morcant continuously proliferates by tapping three Elves. This locks down opposing creature-based strategies while your board grows unimpeded. The deck finishes games through wide combat overruns powered by Coat of Arms, Finale of Devastation, and Lathril, Blade of the Elves, or an infinite loop with Blowfly Infestation and Flourishing Defenses. While it possesses overwhelming creature control and resilient graveyard recursion, its reliance on a creature-dense board leaves it vulnerable to sweepers due to limited instant-speed protection.
