Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by The Wise Mothman, blending mill attrition with explosive +1/+1 counter beatdown. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using efficient two-mana green ramp spells and mana rocks to deploy Mothman on Turn 3 or 4. Once operational, Mothman hands out rad counters to all players. As players mill nonland cards during their pre-combat main phases, Mothman distributes +1/+1 counters across your board, rapidly turning utility creatures into massive threats. Synergies like Hardened Scales, Innkeeper's Talent, and Kami of Whispered Hopes amplify counter growth, while payoffs like Terrasymbiosis and Evolution Witness convert counter placement into card advantage and graveyard recursion. Mill enablers such as Mesmeric Orb, Court of Cunning, and Undead Alchemist accelerate library depletion and generate token armies. Opponents face severe pressure from flying combat damage and direct life drain from Syr Konrad, the Grim, supported by robust free counterspells and protective spells.
