Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain and attrition strategy led by The Kingpin of Crime. It blends defensive board presence, extort triggers, and toughness-based combat damage with a potent life-drain engine. In the opening turns, the deck establishes passive lifegain sources like Authority of the Consuls and Daxos, Blessed by the Sun, blunting opposing aggression while padding your life total. Once The Kingpin of Crime enters the battlefield, high-toughness creatures become potent attackers. In the mid-to-late game, the deck converts life gain into direct opponent life loss using payoffs like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, and Sanguine Bond. It can close games through sustained combat and extort bleed, a massive Exsanguinate, or an infinite loop between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and any Sanguine Bond effect. A comprehensive removal suite and targeted protective spells keep your engine online while disrupting opposing game plans.
