Deck overview

This is a mono-black attrition deck built around Starscream, Power Hungry, monarch effects, discard, life loss, and reanimation. The clearest operating sequence is to cast Starscream, Power Hungry converted, then deploy Court of Ambition to take the monarch. Bloodchief Ascension improves the plan after it gains three quest counters, turning discarded cards into additional life loss. Greed, Necrodominance, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and The Speed Demon can supply card flow, but they are not reliably present with the initial setup. The deck has respectable removal and several ways to recover creatures, but little protection for its enchantments and no compact deterministic finish. It usually assembles around turn 6, reaches meaningful recurring pressure around turn 8, and cannot reliably establish a table kill or total lockout. Its strongest games exploit life as a resource through Necrodominance, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Exsanguinate, but those cards require substantial mana and are not consistently accessed together.
