Deck overview

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria commands a Grixis typal midrange deck centered on the Villain creature type, connive looting, and combat aggression. The deck establishes early board presence using low-cost Villains, cost reducers, and mana rocks before deploying Doctor Doom on Turn 4 to grant evasion and trigger repeatable connive filtering. As cards are discarded and counters accumulate, payoffs like Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon, Madame Hydra, and Leader, Super-Genius compound the board into a wide, menacing army. Critical pressure arrives around Turn 6, pairing evasive combat damage with passive drain from Doctor Doom whenever land cards are discarded. While the deck boasts strong internal synergy and resilient backup attackers, it operates at a traditional casual pace, lacking instant-speed stack protection and vulnerable to creature sweepers before reaching its Turn 8 finish.
