Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Edgar Markov's Eminence ability to execute an aggressive, wide-board Vampire tribal strategy supplemented by Aristocrats life-drain synergies. From the command zone, Edgar Markov generates a 1/1 Vampire token whenever any Vampire spell is cast, creating rapid battlefield presence without requiring commander deployment. The deck curves low-mana Vampires into tribal lords like Stromkirk Captain and Legion Lieutenant, quickly building a formidable board state. Mass combat amplifiers such as Shared Animosity and Sanctum Seeker turn the token swarm into a fast lethal threat by Turn 5. If opponents attempt to clear the board, aristocrat drainers including Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Falkenrath Noble punish sweepers by converting dying creatures into direct damage. Card advantage is sustained through Champion of Dusk, Welcoming Vampire, and Skullclamp, while removal pieces like Anguished Unmaking and Olivia's Wrath clear paths for attacks. The primary plan reliably eliminates the table by Turn 7.
