Deck overview

This deck is a focused Selesnya tribal aggressive strategy centered on Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, synergistic Cat creatures and empowering them with static anthems like Flowering of the White Tree and King of the Pride, or compounding +1/+1 counter engines like Sovereign Okinec Ahau and Cathars' Crusade. Kutzil serves as both an engine protector and a primary card-draw velocity hub, completely preventing opponents from casting spells on your turn while drawing cards whenever modified creatures connect in combat. The deck ramps cleanly on Turns 1–2, establishes its engine on Turn 4, and presents a lethal combat clock by Turn 5–6 through exponential power doubling and trample enablers like Overwhelming Stampede. While susceptible to mass exile effects, its dense redundancy, built-in turn silence, and counter retention via The Ozolith ensure consistent, high-tempo aggression across four-player tables.
