Deck overview

This Abzan deck pairs a low-power, high-toughness combat strategy with an oppressive suite of stax pieces. Helmed by Doran, the Siege Tower, the deck converts inexpensive defenders such as Wall of Roots, Overgrown Battlement, and Crashing Drawbridge into heavy combat threats by assigning damage using toughness rather than power. It supports this clock with asymmetric sweepers like Slaughter the Strong, The Battle of Bywater, and Dusk // Dawn, which destroy large opposing creatures while leaving your high-toughness army untouched. Simultaneously, hatebears and enchantments including Rule of Law, Archon of Emeria, Collector Ouphe, and Stony Silence shut down artifact mana and storm combos, forcing opponents into a slow game where Doran dominates combat. An infinite green mana combo with Devoted Druid and Swift Reconfiguration provides an alternate burst win line through massive token generation.
