Deck overview

This deck executes a hybrid mill and aristocrats strategy led by Zellix, Sanity Flayer and Agent of the Iron Throne. Zellix turns every instance of an opponent milling a creature into a 1/1 Horror token, while Agent of the Iron Throne turns every sacrificed artifact or creature into direct life drain against each opponent. The deck accelerates into its commander pair on Turns 3 and 4, then layers continuous mill engines like Altar of Dementia, Mesmeric Orb, and Syr Konrad, the Grim on Turn 5. As opponents mill cards, Zellix floods the board with tokens that feed sacrifice outlets to trigger explosive drain chains. Compact backup wins like Bloodchief Ascension with Mindcrank and Bruvac the Grandiloquent with Maddening Cacophony give the deck decisive alternate finishes, while a dense suite of 1-2 mana counterspells and creature removal protects the engine and disrupts opposing game plans.
