Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lifegain strategy commanded by Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost soul sisters and Food generators to consistently trigger Bilbo's replacement effect, which adds an additional life point to every instance of lifegain. This rapid accumulation of life fuels steady card draw through pieces like The Gaffer and Haliya, Guided by Light. By Turn 6, the deck pivots into game-ending payoffs such as Felidar Sovereign, Aetherflux Reservoir, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Storm Herd. While the deck boasts robust graveyard recursion and resilient defensive tools like Clever Concealment and Dawn's Truce, it lacks dedicated tutor density and instant-speed interaction against opposing noncreature combos, relying instead on its substantial life buffer and explosive lifegain bursts to outlast and overwhelm the table.
