Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari reanimation and aristocrats midrange strategy led by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The game plan focuses on filling the graveyard early through self-mill, entomb effects, and sacrificial utility creatures like Sakura-Tribe Elder and Stitcher's Supplier. Once Meren is deployed, she steadily accumulates experience counters to reanimate high-impact threats for free at every end step. The deck controls the board through repeatable asymmetric creature sacrifice engines, including Accursed Marauder and Sheoldred, Whispering One, while neutralizing aggressive attacks with recurring Spore Frog fogs. Standalone reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize provide substantial redundancy, ensuring big payoffs like Gruff Triplets, Titanoth Rex, and Kokusho, the Evening Star enter play even if Meren is removed. Without infinite combos, the deck grinds down the table through relentless creature attrition, massive trample combat damage, and repeated draining triggers.
