Deck overview

Redshift, Rocketeer Chief leads a Gruul +1/+1-counter stompy deck that fuses massive dragons, dinosaurs, and hydras with a power-based mana engine in the command zone. Redshift's tap ability converts his size into mana for activated abilities - most importantly, it can pay for Aggravated Assault every combat, turning him (or Kami of Whispered Hopes) into an infinite-combat kill. The deck also builds toward the one-shot Exhaust ability, where a 10+ power Redshift dumps an entire hand of permanents onto the battlefield, led by Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant and Etali, Primal Conqueror. The threat base is deep and redundant: Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, and Kami multiply counters on hydras and dragons; Halana and Alena, Partners grant haste and counters; and Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, Scourge of the Throne, and Atarka, World Render turn a wide board into extra-combat, double-strike lethal. It is a flexible, explosive midrange list that can win by combo or by simply running a table over.
