Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Izzet spellslinger strategy built around Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph. Ghyrson acts as a lethal damage amplifier, turning any source that deals exactly 1 damage into 3 damage. The list leverages an army of cheap pingers like Firebrand Archer, Coruscation Mage, and Kessig Flamebreather, alongside 1-damage board wipes like End the Festivities and Tectonic Hazard. When Ghyrson is on the battlefield, casting simple 1-mana cantrips wipes opposing utility creatures and deals massive damage to all opponents simultaneously. Card draw engines such as Curiosity and Ophidian Eye trigger off Ghyrson's damage to rapidly draw through the deck, fueling storm turns powered by Storm-Kiln Artist and Underworld Breach. The deck also includes a compact infinite combo in Niv-Mizzet, Parun with Curiosity. Low-cost interaction and Ward {2} protect the engine while racing toward a decisive burn finish.
