Deck overview

This Esper deck centers on Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign, using explosive fast mana to deploy the commander on Turn 2 or 3. By manipulating the top card of the library with tutors like Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, and Mystical Tutor, or filters like Sensei's Divining Top and Brainstorm, the deck ensures Yennett attacks to cast devastating odd-mana spells for free. These payoffs include game-ending extra turns (Expropriate, Temporal Mastery, Nexus of Fate), asymmetric locks (Void Winnower), and board-dominating threats (Portal to Phyrexia, Peer into the Abyss, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre). Supported by free countermagic (Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship) and silence effects (Grand Abolisher, Teferi, Time Raveler), the deck prevents interaction during its critical attack windows. It rapidly closes games by chaining turns and dealing massive combat damage with Super State and annihilator Eldrazi.
