Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Esper tribal midrange strategy that uses Sphinx creatures to generate massive card advantage and dominate the board in the air. The commander, The Ur-Sphinx, reduces the casting cost of all Sphinx spells by one generic mana from the command zone via eminence, enabling rapid development of expensive, high-impact creatures. Supported by top-tier fast mana like Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Chrome Mox, the deck transitions into powerful engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Consecrated Sphinx by Turn 4. From there, it deploys must-answer flying threats including Medomai the Ageless and Tivit, Seller of Secrets to establish a lethal combat clock by Turn 5. A world-class interaction suite featuring Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Cyclonic Rift protects your board while disrupting opponents. Even against board wipes, mass recursion from Rise of the Dark Realms ensures sustained late-game inevitability.
