Deck overview

This Dimir deck combines classic Rat tribal synergies with interactive control, helmed by Vren, the Relentless. Vren acts as both a stax-like disruption piece and a scalable token generator by exiling opposing creatures whenever they die and converting those casualties into scaling Rat tokens. The deck supports this game plan with a rich suite of low-cost removal and counterspells, ensuring steady token production while keeping opposing threats in check. As the rat count grows, tribal payoffs such as Marrow-Gnawer, Coat of Arms, Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, and Valley Rotcaller turn the board into an overwhelming, evasive combat threat. While the deck relies primarily on combat damage and remains susceptible to sweepers, its passive graveyard denial, strong interaction suite, and resilient backup token generators make it an oppressive and cohesive mid-power engine.
