Commander: Rivaz of the Claw

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a rakdos Dragon-tribal value deck built to shortcut the high end of the tribe. Rivaz of the Claw is part mana rock, part reanimation engine: he taps for two Dragon-only mana and allows one Dragon cast per turn from the graveyard, which turns discard outlets, Buried Alive, and creature sacrifice into card advantage. The deck accelerates with cost reducers like Dragonlord's Servant, Dragonspeaker Shaman, and Urza's Incubator, then wins through overwhelming flyer combat. The main kill is an explosive combat turn using Scourge of the Throne extra combats, Molten Echoes hasty Dragon copies, and Twinflame Tyrant damage doubling, often spread across the table by myriad attackers like Tiamat's Fanatics and Goldlust Triad. Secondary paths include Terror of the Peaks direct-damage bursts and a treasure-fueled Hellkite Tyrant alternate win. Chainer, Nightmare Adept functions as a hidden commander, granting haste to reanimated Dragons.
