Deck overview

This deck leverages Gwenom, Remorseless as a Bolas's Citadel engine in the command zone. By attacking with Gwenom, you pay life instead of mana to cast spells from the top of your library. The deck accelerates this plan using explosive mono-black rituals like Dark Ritual, Culling the Weak, and Rain of Filth, alongside haste enablers such as Lightning Greaves. Once Gwenom attacks, the deck digs through the library with Sensei's Divining Top to assemble instant table-killing combos. The primary win conditions include Aetherflux Reservoir storm loops, Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Sanguine Bond, and aristocrat loops using Mortuary. Even without the commander, standalone powerhouses like Bolas's Citadel and Peer into the Abyss allow the deck to execute identical game-ending turns with minimal delay.
