Deck overview

This is a mono-black resource-denial build helmed by Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern. The deck packs 25+ effects that force opponents to discard or sacrifice, then turns those symmetrical costs into a one-way steal engine the moment Tergrid is on the battlefield. The package runs from cheap ETB discard creatures (Burglar Rat, Elderfang Disciple, Nezumi Informant, Virus Beetle) to upkeep enchantments (Bottomless Pit, Necrogen Mists) to haymakers like Pox, Smallpox, and Dark Deal that strip hands, boards, and lands at once. Payoffs like Waste Not, Geth's Grimoire, Tinybones, Bauble Burglar, and Grave Pact multiply the value of every forced discard or sacrifice, while a reanimation backbone (Reanimate, Animate Dead, Sheoldred, Whispering One, The Soul Stone) keeps the best pieces coming back. The deck closes through a huge Torment of Hailfire powered by Cabal Coffers/Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, a devotion-swinging Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or a board of stolen permanents. The back face, Tergrid's Lantern, offers a removal-resistant late-game mana sink: it forces sacrifices or discards every turn even if the God is answered.
