Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu aggro-cheat strategy helmed by Kaalia of the Vast. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating Kaalia onto the battlefield on Turn 3 or 4, attacking immediately to cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs such as Balefire Dragon, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Aurelia, the Warleader apply immense combat pressure, clear opposing boards, and multiply damage output. The deck supports this aggressive posture with premier defensive cards like Teferi's Protection, Boros Charm, and Deflecting Swat to protect Kaalia and her army from removal. High-impact board wipes such as Farewell and Blasphemous Act ensure reset potential when falling behind. While exceptionally explosive in the air, the deck relies heavily on Kaalia's attack triggers, leaving it vulnerable to targeted removal and empty-hand states if disrupted.
