Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Spellslinger Voltron deck commanded by Fire Lord Azula. The strategy revolves around casting cheap instants during the combat step while Fire Lord Azula attacks. Azula provides two red mana through firebending and copies every spell cast during combat, supercharging pump spells, cantrips, and removal. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana using low-cost mana rocks and cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor. Once Azula attacks, duplicated combat spells such as Unleash Fury, Fists of Flame, and Sudden Breakthrough quickly turn the commander into a lethal threat that can eliminate opponents with commander damage in single swings. The deck supplements this aggressive clock with explosive Treasure generation from Storm-Kiln Artist and late-game spell recursion using Mizzix's Mastery and Invoke Calamity. While vulnerable to well-timed creature removal, the deck maintains steady velocity through duplicated draw spells and modular charms.
