Deck overview

Smeagol, Helpful Guide drives a Ring-tempt theft engine: each tempted trigger rips lands from opponents while fueling graveyard recursion. The primary path is a Dunedain Rangers/altar/Bloodghast loop that steals lands repeatedly, then converts each landfall into mass drain with Syr Konrad or an army with Rampaging Baloths. Secondary routes use mass reanimation (Breach the Multiverse, Rise of the Dark Realms), Grist/planeswalker milling, and Nazgul/Witch-king beatdown. The nine Nazgul are a supporting pseudo-theme, not a hidden commander. Smeagol's end-step trigger rewards sacrificing creatures, so Braids, Yawgmoth, and Jadar smooth card flow. The deck is a value-combo build that plays midrange and pivots to a compact loop once it assembles four to six pieces.
