Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group slug strategy commanded by The Lord of Pain. Its game plan focuses on punishing opponents for performing basic game actions, including casting spells, tapping lands, drawing cards, and activating abilities. Early turns prioritize ramp and low-cost punisher pieces before deploying the commander on Turn 4 to punish every player's first spell each turn while shutting down all opposing lifegain. As the mid-game develops, heavy attrition engines like Kaervek the Merciless, Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, and Mogis, God of Slaughter stack additional noncombat damage triggers across the table. Board wipes such as Massacre Wurm, Massacre Girl, and Blasphemous Act double as win conditions alongside death triggers from Syr Konrad, the Grim and Blood Artist. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through steady table-wide life loss and burst drain.
