Commander: Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle is a Simic sea-monster ramp deck built around turning the commander from a two-mana land into a 12/12 Kraken. The primary plan is to ramp early, use cheap spells to remove Arixmethes's five slumber counters, then deploy big Krakens/Leviathans and finish with Overrun-style pump spells. Aesi and Jin-Gitaxias provide card advantage, while High Tide and land-ramp spells generate the mana needed for six- and seven-drops. Kicked Rite of Replication and Dark Depths are alternate explosive finishes. The deck has no counterspells and no true combo, so it plays a fair but high-power beatdown game. There is no hidden commander; Dark Depths is simply an alternate win package. It can function without the commander, but Arixmethes is the most efficient path to a 12/12 attacker.
