The Gitrog Monster leads a high-density Golgari lands combo deck built around an extreme land count of 59 lands and deterministic dredge loops. The strategy accelerates in the early turns using additional land drop enablers like Exploration and Burgeoning to deploy The Gitrog Monster on Turn 4. Once established, Gitrog converts upkeep sacrifices, fetchlands, and cycling lands into a compounding card draw engine. The primary win condition is the classic Dakmor dredge loop: discarding Dakmor Salvage to a free discard outlet (Wild Mongrel or Noose Constrictor) triggers Gitrog's draw ability, which is replaced by dredging Dakmor Salvage. With over 60% land density, this loop generates excess draw triggers to draw the entire library. Looping Dark Ritual via graveyard reshufflers like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Elixir, or Feldon's Cane generates arbitrary black mana to cast a lethal Torment of Hailfire on Turn 6.
