Deck overview

Queza, Augur of Agonies helms an Esper combo-control deck that weaponizes card draw into lethal life drain. The deck's primary strategy pairs continuous and burst draw effects—such as Rhystic Study, The One Ring, Windfall, and Peer into the Abyss—with Queza's triggered ability and redundant drain multipliers like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Psychosis Crawler. It converts card velocity into a decisive win through compact lines, most notably an infinite life-drain loop with Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose (or Sanguine Bond), as well as Drogskol Reaver or Peer into the Abyss. A robust suite of two-mana mana rocks and fast fixing accelerates deployment, while premier interaction including Fierce Guardianship, Dovin's Veto, Swords to Plowshares, and Cyclonic Rift protects key pieces and disrupts opposing game plans. Independent of the commander, the deck maintains high redundancy across tutors, alternative win conditions, and oppressive draw-punishing permanents, ensuring consistent game-ending pressure by turns 5 and 6.
