Deck overview

This is a Jeskai spellslinger control deck helmed by Gandalf of the Secret Fire. The commander's signature ability exiles instants and sorceries cast on opponents' turns with three time counters, granting them suspend - so every instant you fire during someone else's turn becomes a free spell on a later turn. The deck leans into this with a dense suite of instant-speed interaction, counterspells, and a LOTR-flavored "Ring tempts you" package. The primary win is spell-based damage: Guttersnipe, Erebor Flamesmith, Fiery Inscription, and Gandalf the Grey convert each cast into 2-8 damage to every opponent. A secondary combat plan uses Glamdring and Wizard's Staff to turn the commander into a big first-striker that casts free spells on contact. The deck controls the game with counters, removal, and board wipes, then closes by chaining suspended spells and burn.
