Rowan, Scion of Self Harm by user7493883

Format: Commander

Commander: Rowan, Scion of War

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Rowan, Scion of War turns life paid into a massive mana discount for black/red spells. The primary plan is to lose or pay 20+ life in one turn-through Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, pain lands, or draw spells-then activate Rowan's sorcery ability and fire a lethal Banefire, doubled by Solphim/Insult, or an Exsanguinate. A secondary independent package uses Bloodchief Ascension plus Mindcrank to create an infinite life-drain/mill loop. K'rrik, Blood Celebrant, and rituals also convert life into mana. The deck is not built around a hidden commander; Rowan herself is the engine, with Solphim, Imodane, and Judith amplifying the payoff.
