Commander: Codie, Vociferous Codex

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a five-color spellslinger deck helmed by Codie, Vociferous Codex, built almost entirely out of instants and sorceries. Codie's activated ability - pay {4} and tap to add {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}, then exile the top of the library until you hit an instant or sorcery with lesser mana value and cast it free - is the entire engine. The deck wins by chaining spells into a massive Grapeshot storm, or by grinding out extra turns with Time Stretch and burning the table down with Expansion // Explosion, Delayed Blast Fireball, and Together as One. It runs zero tutors, zero real combos, and almost no creatures, making it a high-variance value pile that lives and dies with its commander. The single non-land permanent, Resonating Lute, cannot even be cast while Codie is on the battlefield.
