Deck overview

This Mardu deck is an aggressive combat and cheat-into-play strategy built around Kaalia of the Vast. The primary plan accelerates Kaalia into play by Turn 3 using low-cost mana rocks like Sol Ring and Talismans, protects her with equipment like Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots, and swings on Turn 4. Kaalia's triggered ability bypasses the high mana costs of Angels, Demons, and Dragons, putting massive threats directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Heavy hitters like Master of Cruelties can eliminate an opponent in a single combat step, while Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Utvara Hellkite, and Aurelia, the Warleader multiply combat damage and generate overwhelming aerial board states. The deck supports this aggressive core with efficient spot removal, robust defensive protection like Dawn's Truce and Mother of Runes, and backup cheat enablers like Sneak Attack. While lethal, it requires continuous hand replenishment to maintain offensive pressure.
