Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan landfall midrange strategy commanded by Thalia and The Gitrog Monster. The commander accelerates your mana base by granting an additional land play each turn, generates card draw during combat, and disrupts opponents by forcing their nonbasic lands and creatures to enter tapped. The core game plan curves efficient early ramp into continuous land-based value engines, turning land drops into broad token swarms via cards like Scute Swarm, Felidar Retreat, Rampaging Baloths, and Avenger of Zendikar. Top-deck manipulators like Courser of Kruphix and Augur of Autumn smooth draws while recursion pieces like Six and Perennial Behemoth ensure graveyard resilience. The deck closes games around Turn 7 by delivering an overwhelming combat attack backed by decisive overrun effects such as Moonshaker Cavalry, Pathbreaker Ibex, and Beastmaster Ascension.
