Commander: Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Simic Merfolk tribal deck built around Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca and the unique "tap your tapped-out tribe for value" game plan. It develops a wide board of cheap Merfolk and hexproof tokens from Deeproot Waters and Deeproot Pilgrimage, then converts that army into card advantage and counters through Kumena's activated abilities, Fallowsage, and Hakbal of the Surging Soul. Reusable untap pieces like Merrow Commerce, Seedborn Muse, and Murkfiend Liege let the deck draw multiple cards per turn cycle and keep its creatures ready for combat. The primary win condition is combat: islandwalk from Lord of Atlantis, Tidal Warrior, and Tide Shaper makes evasion cheap, while lords and counter-doubling effects like Hardened Scales, Doubling Season, and Court of Garenbrig turn a small board into a lethal one. The deck's most explosive alt-win is Wanderwine Prophets, which can generate a self-sustaining chain of extra turns when it connects. Overall, this is a midrange, board-centric value deck rather than a fast combo deck.
