Commander: Magar of the Magic Strings

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck pilots Magar of the Magic Strings as a repeatable graveyard tutor. You fill the graveyard with impact instants and sorceries, then animate them as 3/3 creatures that copy their spell on combat damage. Magar's activated ability is the engine: it notes a card name, makes a face-down token, and exiles it if it leaves. The deck also leans on pingers such as Firebrand Archer and Electrostatic Field to convert every cast into damage. Secondary paths include Dreadhorde Arcanist and Bloodthirsty Adversary to recast spells from the graveyard, plus Gix and Professional Face-Breaker for card advantage. The hidden commander is Garland, Knight of Cornelia // Chaos, the Endless, whose front side surveils on noncreature casts and whose back side is a 5/5 flying threat that can be reanimated with Ral Zarek. The deck is built to use Magar's front face: nearly every nonland card is a spell worth copying, and Magar's token ability bypasses normal graveyard limits.
