Deck overview

This Abzan deck utilizes Ghave, Guru of Spores as a modular combo engine at the intersection of +1/+1 counters, token creation, and aristocrats sacrifice outlets. The game plan focuses on establishing early mana acceleration through low-cost dorks and land ramp, deploying counter multipliers like Hardened Scales or Branching Evolution, and resolving Ghave to create explosive resource loops. By pairing Ghave with mana engines like Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar, the deck generates infinite mana, infinite creature tokens, and infinite death triggers. Redundant aristocrat payoffs such as Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Mirkwood Bats instantly turn these loops into table-wide lethal drain. In alternate lines, Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Pitiless Plunderer form a compact infinite loop to clear opposing boards and drain life totals. The deck backs up its combo attempts with robust protection like Heroic Intervention and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar, while utilizing flexible removal and sweepers like Culling Ritual to control the game pace.
