Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition and Voltron strategy designed around Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu, Transcendent Rival. The game plan exploits Shinryu's Burning Chains ability: when the chosen opponent loses the game, you win the game immediately. Rather than having to deal 120 total damage across three opponents, the deck focuses all resources on eliminating a single target. The list deploys basic Swamps on curve, casts Zenos on Turn 5, and triggers his transformation by removing the chosen creature with his enter-the-battlefield trigger or an edict. Once transformed, Shinryu attacks as an 8/8 flyer, accelerated by life-halving permanents like Quietus Spike and Virtus the Veiled or finishing via 21 commander damage across three swings. The surrounding 99 provides creature removal, curses, and hand disruption to clear the path for Shinryu while keeping opposing threats in check.
