Deck overview

This is an Izzet "pinger" deck helmed by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph, built entirely around the commander's amplification ability: every source that deals exactly 1 damage becomes 3 damage. The deck runs a dense suite of creatures that ping each opponent on noncreature casts (Firebrand Archer, Erebor Flamesmith, Electrostatic Field), tap-pingers that untap on instants and sorceries (Thermo-Alchemist, Unruly Catapult, Gelectrode), and 1-damage spells and lands. With Ghyrson out, each cheap instant or sorcery becomes a miniature Lightning Bolt to every opponent. The primary win is grinding life totals through amplified pings, with Grapeshot storm and the Niv-Mizzet, Parun + Curiosity/Ophidian Eye infinite as finishers.
