Deck overview

This Esper life-gain control deck is helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, leveraging his command-zone life-gain trigger to fuel incremental card advantage and a suite of life-matters payoffs. The primary game plan is to assemble an infinite drain loop using Sanguine Bond with Exquisite Blood (or their functional equivalents Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Bloodthirsty Conqueror), turning any life-gain trigger into a win. The deck supports this core with a dense tutor package (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, Imperial Seal, Grim Tutor, and Merchant Scroll) to find combo pieces, and a robust protection suite (Teferi's Protection, Fierce Guardianship, Counterspell, Dovin's Veto) to shield the combo turn. Secondary win conditions include Aetherflux Reservoir, Felidar Sovereign, and Test of Endurance for alternate life-based victories. The deck plays a patient, reactive game, gaining life through Oloro, Rhystic Study, Esper Sentinel, and Smothering Tithe, then deploying the combo once the board is stable.
