Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai midrange ramp strategy built around Zaxara, the Exemplary, utilizing big mana, +1/+1 counters, and powerful spells with {X} in their mana costs. The early game focuses on accelerating mana through cheap dorks, land ramp, and auras to deploy Zaxara on turn 3 or 4. Once assembled, Zaxara acts as both a two-mana accelerator and a token engine, creating a scaling Hydra token whenever any X-spell is cast. Force multipliers like Unbound Flourishing, Corpsejack Menace, and Kalonian Hydra quickly grow these threats into lethal trampling attackers. While the deck primarily closes games through overwhelming combat damage across turns 6 and 7, it also contains a compact infinite mana combo with Freed from the Real that can win on the spot. The list features strong engine recovery and protection spells, balanced by a vulnerability to mass exile removal and an absence of non-creature permanent interaction.
