Deck overview

This mono-black commander deck is helmed by Ghoulcaller Gisa and centers on a classic Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy. The game plan focuses on deploying efficient early Zombie creatures, establishing mana ramp, and casting Gisa on turn 4 or 5. Gisa functions as an explosive token multiplier, converting large creatures or recurring fodder like Gravecrawler into a massive army of 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck amplifies this swarm using traditional lords like Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Lord of the Accursed, while converting creature deaths into card advantage and life drain through Undead Augur, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vengeful Dead. Asymmetric board control is provided by Noxious Ghoul and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. While the deck features strong tribal synergy and resilient recursion, it operates at a moderate pace, lacking instant-speed protection and direct tutors, making it reliant on untapping with Gisa to close out games.
