Draw Life

Format: Commander

Commander: Shabraz, the Skyshark

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Shabraz, the Skyshark leads an Azorius control deck that turns card draw into life, a growing commander, and multiple alternate win conditions. The primary plan is to slow opponents with tax effects and counterspells, then use draw spells to grow Shabraz and reach life thresholds for Test of Endurance, Felidar Sovereign, or Aetherflux Reservoir. Secondary paths include tutoring up Approach of the Second Sun, hand-size wins with Triskaidekaphile and Twenty-Toed Toad, and a token swarm with Ojer Taq and Legion Loyalty. Elminster is a hidden commander option, but the deck is built around Shabraz's draw payoff. The deck is resilient because its win conditions are independent, but it lacks ramp and is vulnerable to fast decks.
