Commander: Edgar Markov

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a wide Mardu Vampire swarm deck built around Edgar Markov's Eminence ability. The core plan is to chain Vampire spells, each one generating a free 1/1 token from the command zone, then convert that massive board into life loss through tribal drainers like Sanctum Seeker, Malakir Bloodwitch, and Bishop of the Bloodstained. Edgar himself is an accelerator rather than a requirement: when cast, he has haste and immediately attacks to put +1/+1 counters on the whole team. The deck's two primary finishes are go-wide combat with lords such as Legion Lieutenant, Stromkirk Captain, and Vampire Nocturnus, plus an infinite life-drain loop from Exquisite Blood + either Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Marauding Blight-Priest. Sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Skullclamp turn tokens into mana and cards, while Bolas's Citadel provides a top-deck engine and a backup life-drain ability.
