Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Amalia Benavides Aguirre as a low-cost card selection and board-control engine centered on lifegain triggers. The primary strategy opens with cheap soul sisters such as Soul Warden and Lunarch Veteran to trigger Amalia repeatedly. Each lifegain event allows Amalia to explore, drawing lands into hand and loading the graveyard with low-mana creatures while growing her power toward a board wipe at 20 power. As the board develops, life-drain engines like Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric, and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim convert every lifegain trigger into direct damage against all opponents. Mass reanimation spells, including Raise the Past and Ascend from Avernus, provide explosive recovery and burst lifegain by returning multiple creatures simultaneously. The deck closes games through compounded drain triggers, tall attacks from growing creatures, or a decisive Exsanguinate, offering resilient midrange pressure without relying on infinite combos.
