Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Cascade Burn strategy helmed by Abaddon the Despoiler. Its game plan revolves around dealing symmetrical group-slug damage to opponents during your turn, which unlocks Abaddon's ability to grant cascade to spells cast from your hand. Low-cost enablers like Spear Spewer, Flame Rift, and Thermo-Alchemist rapidly rack up opponent life loss, allowing mid-game threats such as Neheb, the Eternal, Keeper of Secrets, Bloodthirster, and Lord of Change to cascade into additional spells and build overwhelming board presence. While the deck generates explosive spell-chaining turns and massive bursts of noncombat damage, it relies heavily on tapping out for expensive permanents without extensive defensive protection. A modest package of counterspells and removal provides basic interaction, but the deck shines most when chaining multiple spells per turn and turning every point of dealt damage into free spells and combat pressure.
