Deck overview

Marchesa, the Black Rose pilots an aggressive aristocrats engine centered on dethrone and +1/+1 counter recursion. By placing counters on creatures through modular abilities, combat, or support cards like Unspeakable Symbol, the deck turns sacrificial fodder into immortal engines that return at the beginning of each end step. Instant-speed sacrifice outlets such as Goblin Bombardment, Carrion Feeder, and Ashnod's Altar allow the deck to trigger death and entry effects on every player's turn. Payoffs including Purphoros, God of the Forge, Marionette Apprentice, and Flayer of the Hatebound steadily burn the entire table, while Grave Pact locks down creature-based opposition. Robust free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Deadly Rollick shields Marchesa during critical setup turns. The deck thrives on life total manipulation, turning dethrone triggers into explosive, resilient resource disparity.
