Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis midrange build commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The strategy focuses on establishing early mana development and deploying Sauron on Turn 5. Sauron punishes every opposing spell by amassing an Orc Army, while his Ward ability severely penalizes targeted removal by forcing opponents to sacrifice legendary permanents. Once an Army connects in combat, the Ring tempts you, triggering Sauron's ability to discard depleted hands and draw four fresh cards every turn cycle. This rapid card velocity cycles into devastating continuous engines such as All Will Be One, The Great Goblin, and Archfiend of Ifnir. The deck maintains control using cheap countermagic, free removal like Deadly Rollick, and asymmetric board wipes like Toxic Deluge. It closes the game on Turn 8 through overwhelming Army combat damage and direct counter-based burn.
