Commander: Auntie Ool, Cursewretch

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated -1/-1 counter synergy deck helmed by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, designed to weaponize the counter type through a dense web of enablers, payoffs, and proliferate effects. The primary game plan involves spreading -1/-1 counters onto opponents' creatures while also using your own creatures as counter sinks, drawing cards and generating token armies with Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Nest of Scarabs, and Flourishing Defenses. The commander provides excellent card advantage and incidental life loss whenever counters land, and the deck eventually converts the accumulating counters into a win via All Will Be One drain, Blowfly Infestation chains, or combat with a growing token swarm. Secondary win paths include combos around Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Cauldron of Souls + a sacrifice outlet, or the Devoted Druid + Quillspike mana loop, though these require multiple pieces and have limited search access. The deck grinds advantage over many turns rather than aiming for a fast finish.
